Command Sergeant Major Gene E. Canada assumed duties as the Installation Management Command Directorate-Europe Command Sergeant Major on Jan. 12, 2016.

His previous assignment was the Ordnance Corps and School Personnel Development Office Sergeant Major, Fort Lee, Virginia.

CSM Canada was born at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, and raised in Austin. He entered the Army in September 1987, completing basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, and Advanced Individual Training at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama.

He has held every leadership position from squad leader to command sergeant major, and completed multiple deployment tours in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

CSM Canada holds a degree of Business Administration from Columbia Southern University.
