Chief of Staff - Kari Otto
Installation Management Command Directorate-Europe
Kari Otto became the Chief of Staff for the Installation Management Command Directorate–Europe in July 2016.
Prior to joining IMCOM-Europe, she served as Director of Mission Operations for the Pueblo Chemical Depot in Pueblo, Colorado, providing direct oversight of Plans and Operations, Chemical Operations, Ammunition Surveillance, and Liaison with the system’s contractor responsible for operating the chemical munitions destruction plant. Before assuming responsibility for Mission Operations, she served as the depot’s Director of Base Operations, overseeing Public Works, Fire and Emergency Services, Logistics, and Security and Law Enforcement.
While on active duty with the Army, Ms. Otto held a variety of key command and staff positions, including: Commander, U.S. Army Garrison Natick, Massachusetts; Deputy District Commander and Resident Engineer for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Afghanistan District; Director of Public Works, U.S. Army Garrison Schweinfurt, Germany; Observer Controller/Trainer and Battalion Operations Officer, Fort Lewis, Washington; and Company Commander, 52nd Engineer Combat Battalion (Heavy), Fort Carson, Colorado.
She is a graduate of Colorado State University and holds a Masters of Science in Engineering Management and Masters of Business Administration from Saint Martin’s University. She is also a graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College.
Ms. Otto’s civilian and military awards include: Commander’s Award for Civilian Service; Legion of Merit; Bronze Star Medal; and the Meritorious Service Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters.
