Service Organizations provide information and support for: Veterans, active military personnel and family member’s related to pre-deployment, deployment, and post-deployment issues, as well as service member and family Operation Iraqi Freedom Deployment Readiness problems, information about PTSD, Health issues and Veterans Benefits. The organizations website has links to information about Veterans Administration health care, readjustment after deployment, education, employment, military discounts, PTSD issues, support-chat forums, family support and deployment information.

American Ex-Prisoners of War
The American Ex-Prisoners of War organization is a national organization for American citizens who were captured by the enemy. Founded April 14, 1942 the American Ex-Prisoners of War organization has existed for the purpose of helping others. The organization of former POW's (military and civilian), their spouses, families and civilian internees has helped those affected by their capture deal with the trauma through friendship of those who shared a common experience. The friendships have formed lasting relationships from POW camps until late in life.
American GI Forum of the United States
Dr. Hector P. Garcia believed in the American dream and lived it. He was a man who passionately quoted the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, and applied such texts to the outcast minorities of society. He inspired Mexican Americans to educate themselves in democratic principles, then worked to apply those principles to all people through his organization, The American GI Forum. Dr. Hector P. Garcia saw the flagrant deprivation of rights of Mexican Americans and spent his life working to effect positive
change. Have formed lasting relationships from POW camps until late in life.
American Gold Star Mothers, Inc.
AGSM is a private organization and you must apply for membership if you wish to join. AGSM is also a non-profit, 501 C(3), organization and as such cannot engage in political or lobbying activities. Our members may have their own views which they are free to express, but these opinions are not those of AGSM. The organization takes no position on political issues of the day but does support our military and has many activities that reflect that support.
American Legion
The American Legion was chartered by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic, war-time veterans organization, devoted to mutual helpfulness. It is a not-for-profit community-service organization which now numbers nearly 3 million members, men and women, in nearly 15,000 American Legion posts worldwide.
American Red Cross
The American Red Cross links members of the U.S. Armed Forces with their families during a crisis. Twenty-four hours a day, 365 days a year, the Red Cross quickly sends emergency communications to deployed service members on behalf of their family. Military members can have peace of mind knowing that when they are on a mission, in training or stationed far from home––and leaving cell phones and e-mails behind––they are still connected to home.
AMVETS
AMVETS has been in the forefront of public-policy related to national defense, services for homeless veterans, adequate funding for the Department of Veterans Affairs, concurrent receipt of retirement pay and disability compensation by disabled military retirees, veterans employment and training, POW/MIA accountability and flag protection.

Blinded Veterans Association
The Blinded Veterans Association (BVA) is an organization of blinded veterans helping blinded veterans. Through our service programs, regional groups, resources, and advocacy before the legislative and executive branches of government, we hope to make life better for blinded veterans. We also hope to be there with encouragement and support. There is no charge for any BVA service and membership is not a prerequisite to obtain help. All legally blinded veterans are also eligible for BVA’s assistance whether they become blind during or after active duty military service.
Blue Star Mothers of America, Inc.
The Blue Star Mothers of America, Inc. is a non-partisan, non-political organization. We do not support any political candidate, nor do we endorse any religious organization. The military represents all aspects of America as does our organization.
We are mothers who now have, or have had, children honorably serving in the military. We are a non-profit (501[c]3) service organization supporting each other and our children while promoting patriotism. The Blue Star Mothers of America, Inc. is authorized by the U.S. Code: Title 36; Section 943, as of January 26, 1998.
Catholic War Veterans, USA, Inc
Welcome to the Catholic War Veterans of the U.S.A. National Web Site. This Internet site is your gateway to obtain information of the many programs of the CWV. Information about VA Benefits as well as other information of interest to veterans can be readily accessed. It has been designed without a lot of "Bells and Whistles" in order to make it quick to download and easy to navigate through the many pages.
Combat Infantryman Association
The Combat Infantrymen's Association, Inc. is the All Ground Association. We are the first to designate the use of military titles to the Association's officers and non-commissioned officers. We are the first to use the US Army's Table of Organization to designate companies, battalions, regiments, etc.
The purposes for which this Association is organized are:
a. To bring together all members of the US Army who have earned the CIB.
b. To work with all duly recognized veteran and civilian groups to create an overall interest in American democracy.
c. To help veterans with rehabilitation, counseling, personal crises, etc., and to a assist their families where possible.
d. To encourage fellowship and camaraderie among veteran's groups through the Combat Infantrymen's Association newsletter, "The Blue Badge".
Disabled American Veterans
Disabled American Veterans is committed to building better lives for disabled veterans and their families. From helping veterans obtain earned benefits and transportation to hospitals to providing relief after natural disasters and educating the public about disabled veterans’ issues, DAV offers a wide variety of programs and initiatives to serve the ones who served.
Gold Star Wives of America, Inc.
Gold Star Wives Of America, Inc. is an organization of military widows/widowers whose spouse died while on active duty or from service connected disabilities. This military survivors organization has been serving war widows from all conflicts and service connected disabilities since it was founded in 1945. We received a federal charter from Congress on December 4, 1980.
Military Order of the Purple Heart of the U.S.A., Inc.
The Military Order of the Purple Heart Service Program exists to assist Veterans, ALL veterans, in working with the VA and filing claims for the many benefits that are available. You do NOT need to be a Member of the Purple Heart Organization to seek assistance.
The program provides veterans' benefits experts at various veterans administration regional offices, hospitals, vet centers, and state and county veterans facilities. Provides available assistance to ALL Veterans, their dependents, widows and orphans. Processes veterans' claims for compensation, pension, medical care, education, job training, employment, veterans preference, housing, death, and burial benefits. Serves on President's Committee for employment of people with disabilities. Assists in identifying and helping homeless veterans.
National Amputation Foundation, Inc.
The National Amputation Foundation has programs and services geared to help the amputee and other disabled people. Other Services Include: Information on recreational activities for amputees. Booklets and pamphlets that provide information, specific to the needs of above-the-knee, below-the-knee, and arm amputees. Providing hospital visits and running bingo games. National Association for Black Veterans, Inc.
NABVETS provides dedication and commitment to creating positive lifestyles for all veterans, their families and their communities. NABVETS advocates for veteran entitlements, to assure family and community empowerment, to challenge homelessness, to advance partnerships to assure needed services
National Association of State Directors of Veterans Affairs (NASDVA)
NASDVA is an organization consisting of the top veterans affairs official in each state and territory. We provide a medium for the exchange of ideas and information between states so that we can learn from each other and organize responses to issues that face veterans nationwide. We work to secure uniformity, equality, efficiency, and effectiveness in providing services to veterans and their families, especially in regards to claims representation. We are willing partners with the Congress, the federal Department of Veterans Affairs, veteran services organizations and the Department of Defense. People with a sincere interest in working with state governments to help veterans and their families can become Associate Members of NASDVA.
National Veterans Legal Services Program
A project of the National Veterans Legal Services Program (NVLSP) providing free legal representation in disability, discharge and veterans benefits cases to service members and veterans who served in Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) or Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF).
Non Commissioned Officers Association
NCOA works daily to enhance and maintain the quality of life for noncommissioned and petty officers in all branches of the Armed Forces, National Guard and Reserves.
Paralyzed Veterans of America
The Paralyzed Veterans of America, a congressionally chartered veterans service organization founded in 1946, has developed a unique expertise on a wide variety of issues involving the special needs of our members—veterans of the armed forces who have experienced spinal cord injury or dysfunction.
Paralyzed Veterans will use that expertise to be the leading advocate for: Quality health care for our members, Research and education addressing spinal cord injury and dysfunction, Benefits available as a result of our members’ military service,
Civil rights and opportunities which maximize the independence of our members.
The Retired Enlisted Association (TREA)

Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States
The Veterans of Foreign Wars has a rich tradition in enhancing the lives of millions through its community service programs and special projects. From providing free phone cards to our nation's active-duty military personnel to raising money for the World War II memorial, the VFW is there, "honoring the dead by helping the living."
The VFW Foundation's mission is simple: support programs to increase awareness of the sacrifices of America’s veterans; promote citizenship education, volunteerism and positive youth programs; and facilitate medical, rehabilitative, educational and employment services and needs for veterans and their families.
