Compensation for Injured/Disabled Servicemembers

The Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) offer a number of compensatory programs for wounded Servicemembers.

These entitlements and benefits have different purposes:

• To provide pay during a portion of the rehabilitation time from wounds, in juries and illness incurred in combat;
• To provide payment for traumatic injuries that result in severe losses; or
• To compensate you for the reduction of your military retired pay due to the receipt of VA compensation.
